May 13th is Hummus Day! Celebrate with Sabra hummus and these deliciously spicy hummus melts!
Spicy Hummus Melts

My family and I are huge fans of Sabra hummus, and we eat a lot of it. We’re a house full of hummus lovers, and even though I wasn’t originally aware that there was a Hummus Day, I now fully intend to celebrate it!
There is so much you can do with hummus– it’s not just for dipping! It’s a versatile ingredient to use in a variety of different ways, and as a plant-based protein, it’s a nutritious one, too! I am especially fond of spreading hummus on sandwiches and wraps, and I love a good hummus melt.
There are many flavors of Sabra hummus to choose from– and everything I’ve tried has been wonderful– but I was craving something spicy. The Supremely Spicy hummus sounded perfect to me, and because I had never tried it before, I was itching to create something with it.
These spicy hummus melts are wholesome and flavorful, made with only 4 ingredients, and requiring less than 10 minutes of prep work before you’re ready to eat them! The hummus adds a lovely, spicy kick that combines well with the cheese to make a yummy and satisfying snack.
So remember: Hummus Day is coming up on May 13th– make sure you celebrate it in style! 🙂
- 4 slices bread of choice (I used rye)
- ½ cup Sabra Supremely Spicy Hummus
- ¼-½ cup mozzarella or mozzarella-style cheese shreds
- jalapeno pepper slices, to taste
- Toast or grill your bread.
- Set your oven to broil.
- Spread each slice of bread with 2 tablespoons of hummus, then sprinkle the cheese on top.
- Place each slice on a baking sheet and heat under the broiler until the cheese has melted.
- Top with your desired number of jalapeno slices and serve immediately.
